We’re lucky enough to get to partner with our neighboring Wranglers for a wide range of exclusive horseback riding adventures through some of our area’s most highly sought-after trails. The team at Smith Station Stables takes you back to a simpler time at the historic Birch Ranch, adjacent to Firefall Ranch.
Explore the surrounding wilderness in much the same way as the Sierra Nevada’s first explorers. You’ll enjoy the rich sights and sounds of the forest, and you might even make a new friend in your trusty four-legged companion. Choose from 30 minute to one hour riding adventures throughout the day.
If you've ever dreamed of exploring the breathtaking Sierra Nevada Mountains on horseback, now is your chance! Nestled at the gateway to Yosemite, our stables offer an authentic and scenic trail ride experience like no other.
TRIP TIME
• One Hour Trail Rides: available at 9:30 AM, 11 AM, 1 PM & 2:30 PM
• 30 Minute Pony Rides: available daily from 9:30 AM to 4 PM
GROUP SIZE
Up to 6 participants at a time. Reservations recommended. Contact Recreation Desk for availability and pricing for groups of 6 or more.
PRICE
• One Hour Trail Rides: $95 per person (ages 7 and up)
• 30 Minute Pony Rides: $30 per person (ages 3-6)
DIFFICULTY/AGE LIMIT
Participants should be comfortable around large animals. The trip is suitable for ages 3 and above.
MEETING PLACE
All trips meet at the Firefall Ranch reception desk 30 minutes before departure.
WHAT TO BRING
• Completed trip registration forms
• Proper footwear–closed toe shoes
• Long pants recommended
• Bug repellant, sunscreen and sunglasses
• Camera
OTHER INFORMATION
• Maximum weight: 250 lbs
• All riders must wear helmets
• We strive to accommodate all guests and can provide support for some disabilities upon request—please call ahead to discuss your needs.
• Guide gratuity is not included; for exemplary service, a 10-20% tip is customary
