OFFERED IN SUMMER*
Experience the majesty and beauty of the western Sierra on our popular half day trip along the historic Old Big Oak Flat Road into a grove of Yosemite’s famous giant sequoias, the largest living tree species on earth! The historic footpath leading to the majestic sequoias is flanked by a conifer forest filled with birds, squirrels and other wildlife along with a beautiful array of wildflowers.
Our naturalist guides will also share the significance of the relationship between the National Park System and the sequoias, giving you a greater appreciation of this massive redwood. We’ll be finishing our hike just as the day begins to heat up, so we’ll drive deeper into Yosemite to one of our favorite swimming holes for a swim and picnic lunch before heading back to the Lodge!
